This has been a really good starting point for me. You reminded me of much that I knew, but forgot. You also gave good suggestions for networking. For example, I belonged to a local author’s group but dropped out several years ago. That was dumb! I am going to re-join and work at making connections. I especially like your box set idea. I hope you don’t mind if I use that to get better connected.

Curious, Bryan. When you’re talking about setting up a “chat,” do you mean something like a chat session in Google or the like? Or email? I feel like if I got an email from someone asking me to chat, I wouldn’t be sure what they meant.

    • Great question, Rob. You can be specific about whichever kind of chat works best for you. I’m a Skype fan, but you can also just chat on Facebook Messenger, or whatever you like. You can definitely be more specific in the message if you want. Hope that helps!

I’m here and happy to be in this slow paced-well organized trainging. I might be called intermediate, but I don’t have the full proof of it. So I want to share what I know to work with this group, but admit that I think I have some holes in my methods. I’m looking forward to follow you from to very beginning so I can discover where my empty holes are. Thanks for this opportunity.

I really appreciate your emphasis on cooperation rather than competitiveness. I’ve enjoyed several cooperative ventures in the past and am looking forward to connecting with more authors.

When I heard the homework assignment, I heard, “But . . . ” in my head. I am choosing to ignore those messages and jump in.

Great session here, I guess my only question is where can I find all these different authors. I mean the higher levels like you, Chris Fox, Johanna Penn, J Thorn are pretty popular. But what about the intermediate and new people? I’ve added a couple of new friends from facebook from our Students only selling for author group, but do you have any other suggestions?

    • Great question, Abraham! I think you can find some more on Facebook Groups, but you can also just look through the bestseller lists and see if there are some folks in the middle who are having mild success. It’s also worth scoping out podcast interviews to see who’s been on one episode of a show here or there. Hope that helps!

Bryan, I’m wondering about your take on the boxed-set option, considering Amazon’s stance on not having the same book available in other variations–like not allowing the boxed-set if the books are already available as ebooks. But that could just be if they’re in KU. But if the boxed set is in KU, then you can’t have one of the books as a solo title there.

Yeah. It makes my head spin, trying to keep up with Amazon.

    • Hey Donna, thanks for posting. You’re right, you can’t have a book as a solo title and in a multi-author box set if the solo title isn’t in KU but the box set is. But if they’re all not in KU, you should be ok. It’s just a matter of not breaking the KU rule.

For my anthology, I did all original stories because that was just easier. We did KU, and I’m glad we did, because the earnings from pages read was most of what we’ve made.

      Hope that’s helpful!

Hmmm…well, I can think of one or two on one of my FB pages I’d like to say hello to. But 30…well,I’ll really do my best as I sense this is important.
